This is a picture of Face Rock - DUH!

We've been looking for campgrounds "on the beach" since we left Lake Almanor. A place called Sunset Beach sounded like it had promise. However, we saw a sign for Bastendorff Beach Campground on our way. After we saw that Sunset Campground didn't really have a view of the ocean, we went back to look at Bastendorff. The view is at least closer to the campground.  It's a good size campground, paved, big sites for RV's, separate area for tenters, very clean, playground. A lot nicer than most county campgrounds we've seen. The price is the same as the state park: $20 for electricity and water hookups. The campground has a sewer dump station. Hosts are very nice.
